Girl Scouts

Tonight I had my GS (Girl Scouts) meeting. Sara had basketball so she didn't attend. The girls finally decided on a big trip destination and it will either be a Carribean cruise or an Alaskan cruise. Depends on how much they can fundraise and save. A good start to our goal. Crissy (my co-leader who I love!) and I developed a points chart where the girls can earn points for the participation. And not just for attending meetings but for participating in GS fundraisers, community service, working on GS at home on their own. One mom had an issue because her girl doesn't attend many meetings because she plays soccer. So we were trying to explain that it's not all about attending meetings. But after the past year with lack of participation (except the "fun" troop funded events) I'm over it. If the girls don't make effort to participate with GS related stuff outside of meetings, it's their loss. I'm going to focus on the girls that do want to participate and have fun and make that effort. My drama mom whom I haven't seen at all this year I don't know what to do with her. If her girl doesn't show for our community service event Saturday like she says she will then I'm dropping her from the email list. Probably. Why waste my time with the ones who say they want to do it but then never do? Whatever! I volunter my time so why should I waste it on the slackers?

So anyways, I'm pleased with out this year is going so far. I'm really glad Crissy joined me in the leadership role. It's nice to have a partner in crime...I mean... partner in planning. heehee.

It's time for my shopping group grab for October. Gotta run!
